AC Variable - frequency Motor Driven Drilling Rigs

  • Adopt modern world advanced VFD full digital control technology, and can adjust lift speed, speed of rotary table and of mud pump as required so as to improve drill effectiveness.
  • Driven by wide band and high power motor, realizing step less speed of draw works, rotary table and mud pump during the whole process. 
  • The lifting way adopts double lift or rotating lift structure (height of drill floor are 7.5m, 9m and 10.5m), the rig can be lifted by draw works or Hydraulic draw works power to exacted position.
  • The draw works brake adopts a braking way of a combination of hydraulic disc brake and Energy consumed braking by AC variable – frequency motor to ensure performance; 
  • The rotary table adopts combined drive or independent drive, the actuating device is below the drill flow, thus the drill floor is with large operation space.The drill rig is realized intelligent driller control as well as data storage, printing and remote transmission by applying PLC
  • Automatic bit feed, real – time monitoring of run in and put out of hole and drilling conditions 
  • Drilling rig can be equipped with monolithic movement device to meet the moving requirement between wells by clustered drilling 
  • The design of main parts is in compliance with related API provisions

DC Motor Driven (SCR) Drilling Rigs

  • Adopt advanced and mature AC-SCR-DC electric transmission technology.
  • The lifting way adopts double lift or rotating lift structure (height of drill floor are 7.5m, 9m and 10.5m), the rig can be lifted by drawworks or Hydraulic draw works power to expected position.
  • The main brake of draw works is a hydraulic disc brake, it can also adopt band brake; the auxiliary brake uses electromagnetic eddy current brake or EATON brake.
  • The turntable adopts combined drive or independent drive, the actuating device is below the drill flow, thus the drill floor is with large operation space.
  • By applying PLC, the whole drilling process is able to realize logic control, monitoring and protection as well as data storage, printing and remote transmission.
  • The drawworks is equipped with automatic bit feed unit.
  • Drilling rig can be equipped with monolithic movement device to meet the moving requirement between wells by clustered drilling.
  • The design of main parts is in compliance with related API provisions.

D-driven with D.C motors

Mechanical Driven Drilling Rigs

  • The drilling rig is driven by diesel engines, hydraulic coupling& chain compound box or diesel engines, reducers& narrow V-belt, which provides smooth mechanical power to the draw works. A number of hoisting speeds and rotary speeds are available.
  • The draw works is installed at ground level. Power is transmitted through bevel gear and universal shaft to the equipment on the drill floor. It is reliable in driving and easy in assembly/disassembly.
  • The draw works (40 and 50 model) utilize air clutch for shifting gears, which are suitable for remote control.
  • Either band brake or hydraulic disc brake can be considered as main brake of draw works and either an eddy current brake or EATON brake as auxiliary brake.
  • The chain driven rig is driven by the integral enclosed compound chain box (or narrow V-belt) and coupling. During any rig moves, it is unnecessary to dismantle the chains(or narrow V-belt) for fast installation.
  • The mast is of open-front type without guy line. It is integrally raised and installed at ground level.
  • The substructure is of a box-on-box type. It is simple in structure and easy to install. It is applicable for mounting B.O.P installations. The rotary table and the transmission unit are flush with the rig floor. The drill floor is flat and the operational area is large.

Truck Mounted Drilling Rigs

  • Adopting double engine compound power system, the truck mounted drilling rig is a truck-type rig, which is able to operate with either of the two engines or twin-engine incorporation. The gear parallel auxiliary box is reliable in transmission and easy to be maintained. The auxiliary braking system of draw works adopts air control water cooling plate and reinforced chassis. The load distribution is reasonable, and the real axle is air suspension trailing axles.
  • The power transmission system uses Caterpillar engine and ALLISON hydraulic mechanical transmission case with reliable performance and low failure rate.
  • Centralized control of electric, air and hydraulic system, main components adopts international brand.
  • The main drawworks drum is with an integral type of lebus rope groove, main brake uses band brake or hydraulic disc brake, the auxiliary brake is as air control water cooling plate brake, air clamping brake or electromagnetic eddy current brake, etc. The bailing drum can be provided.
  • The derrick is two-section flexible mast type, realizing lifting and expansion by utilizing oil cylinder.
  • The drilling floor is a folding type floor, lifting by hoist with stable structure and convenient installation.
  • The power is taken off by auxiliary box from vehicle-bone engine for the operation of chassis adopting overloading wide axle with good cross-country and travel performance, low section tire, high strength girder, steering mechanism assisted by hydraulic power, dual braking system, which is suitable for complex conditions of oil field with long service life.
  • By modular and humanized design, the rig includes new driving cab, embedded step ladder, automatic lock pin of derrick, crown block and centralized lubricating system of drawworks as well as electric, air and hydraulic centralized control of engine hood designed according to different climate and district, the main components are imported.
  • The top drive system can be chosen.

Rig Control System

Electronic Control System–Main Functions

  • Precisely control the rotation speed of the diesel engine and the voltage of a generator.
  • When multiple sets of generators are combined in the power grid, power is uniformly distributed. Overloading of a machine set can be avoided by power limitation.
  • Multiple protections (under-voltage, over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit, under-frequency, over-frequency and reverse power) for the diesel generator are realized.
  • A broad speed regulation range and precise revolution speed control, which can fully satisfy the requirements of various manufacturing machines in drilling technology.
  • Control detection and remote communication are carried out by adopting PLC technology.
  • Dynamic braking of the draw works can be realized.
  • Skid resistance of the belt pulley is realized.
  • Zero-position linkage protection is realized.
  • Electromagnetic eddy current brake is realized.
  • Automatic bit feeding is realized.
  • Anti-collision of the traveling block is realized.
  • Integrated drilling instrument is provided.
DC SCR Control System
  • A DC transmission system has the functions of controlling an SCR element and rectifying constant-frequency AC power into continuously adjustable DC current. The rectification device is a three-phase complete-controlled rectifier bridge, which is isolated with an AC grid through the circuit breaker. The output of the rectifier bridge is used for supplying power for the DC motor through an assigned contactor, so that speed control and torque control of the drawworks, the mud pump, the rotary table or a top drive, stepless speed regulation is realized, and the transmission requirement is met.
Control System of Diesel Generator
  • The control system of the diesel generator has the functions of controlling the diesel generating set and enabling it to output AC voltage of 600V and 50HZ/60HZ. The system can be divided into an analog generating control system and a full-digital generating control system.
  • The analog generating control system comprises a circuit breaker, a synchronization device, an AC control unit, a power limiting circuit, a grounding fault detection circuit etc.
  • The full-digital generating control system mainly consists of a generator control module, a generator speed controller, a voltage demodulator and other parts.
AC Variable-frequency Control System of Rig
  • Based on a SIEMENS S120 frequency converter or an ABB-ACS800 frequency converter, the rectification art adopts the control system of a public DC busbar plus an inverter, and it has the characteristics of excellent speed regulation performance,strong overload capacity, high reliability, high integration level, strong immunity from interference, simple and convenient operation, easiness in maintenance etc.
